Q: What is Bigfoot MIA?

A: Bigfoot MIA provides virtual personal receptionist service for individual and corporate users. The Service’s functions/capabilities include but are not limited to receiving , screening and patching calls in behalf of the Customer, as well as taking and relaying messages and forwarding calls according to the customers’ specification.

Billing & Payment

Q: How will I receive my statement?

A: You will receive an email invoice of your account within 5 days from the start of each billing cycle. 

Q: Can you bill me instead of using a credit card?

A: No, all of our billing systems are setup for credit card billing.

Q: How hard is it to change the credit card on file?

A: You can change the credit card you have on file at any time. To do so, you can either reach our customer service department through the toll-free number 1-866-708-6MIA or fill out the contact us form here and we will get back to you within 1 business day.

Q: What day of the month do you bill?

A: Your monthly recurring charge is billed on the same date that you set up the account. For example, if you set up an account on the 12th, you'd be billed on the 12th of each month.

Q: Do unused minutes roll over into the next month?

A: No, unused monthly minutes do not roll over into the next month.

Q: Our business is based outside the U.S., but we have a credit card. Can we still use your service?

A: Yes, as long as our credit card payment gateway accepts your credit card. 

Q: I don't have a credit card. What can I do?

A: Currently, we only accept credit card payments. Rest assured, we're working on improving our processes so we can provide more payment options for our clients.

Getting Started

Q: Is there a money-back guarantee?

A: There is no money-back guarantee, but you may cancel your service at anytime, given a 30 day written notice.

Q: Do I have to sign long-term contracts?

A: No, the service you sign up for is month to month and you may cancel at anytime.

Q: Is there a sign up fee?

A: We do not charge a setup fee for our service.

Q: Is there any hardware or software to purchase?

A: No, Bigfoot MIA is a service that provides all of the features of a phone system without any hardware or software installments. Bigfoot MIA utilizes the phones you already have (mobile phones, office phones and home phones) to deliver calls.

Q: How long does it take to set up the service?

A: The service can take anywhere from 10 minutes to a few hours to set up depending on the specifications of your phone operation needs.

Toll-Free Service

Q: Can I request a specific (vanity) phone number?

A: No, we cannot give custom toll-free numbers.  We assign you any random toll-free number as available.

Q: Can I transfer my existing toll-free number to your service?

A: Yes, providing you are the "Customer of Record" for that number. A sales agent can help you with this process.

Q: We have business locations outside the US, can Bigfoot MIA connect to those offices?

A: Yes, Bigfoot MIA can deliver calls to any phone number, domestic or international.

Q: Do I own the toll-free number or does Bigfoot MIA own it?

A: The toll-free number assigned to you is owned by Bigfoot MIA and goes in hand with the Bigfoot MIA service.

General Service

Q: Do you cater to clients outside the US?

A: Our service is currently designed to cater to US/Canada clients only. Improvements are under way to be able to offer a more complete and the best service possible for you.

Q: Can my calls be forwarded to a non-US/Canada number?

A: For now, we can only forward your calls to a US/Canada number. We will be expanding our services to the international market very soon.

Q: Is there a call forwarding charge?

A: Please call 1-866-708-6MIA to learn more about our fees and package rates.

Q: How long can voice mail messages be?

A: There is no limit to the length (in minutes) each voice mail message can be. However, the total voicemail box limit is 2GB. Our system will delete old voice messages more than 2 weeks old.

Q: Can I use my existing local phone number?
 
A: We provide service via creating a new number, however, many customers then forward their existing, previously advertised number to us.

Q: How do you notify me when someone sends a fax/leaves a voice mail?
 
A: You can be notified that you have a voice mail message/fax through a telephone number, an email address, a mobile phone with text messaging, or a pager.

Q: Can I choose an easy-to-remember local number?
 
A: No, we only have certain blocks of numbers available and will be randomly assigned to you once you sign up.

Miscellaneous

Q: How does Bigfoot MIA deal with faxes?

A: Along with receiving phone calls, Bigfoot MIA is also a fax number. People send faxes to it just like they would a fax machine, but Bigfoot MIA receives the fax and forwards it to you via email.

Q: Do you have generic, pre-recorded greetings that I can use?

A: Given that each Bigfoot MIA is customized to fit the needs of each business, there are no generic greetings or voicings. Bigfoot MIA , upon setting up your account, will work with you in creating your voice greetings.
